According to a research
conducted by The Work Foundation on Highly-skilled migrants and the UK’s
knowledge economy, the United Kingdom has a historic and linguistic advantage
in its attractiveness as a destination for talent from across the globe. It is,
infact, the United Kingdom’s success that it has continued to draw upon its
ability to attract individuals with highly specific competencies, qualities,
experience, knowledge and ideas.
This is the reason why
once you have had the taste of the potential highly skilled workers, writers,
composers, artists and lawyers have in the UK, there is nothing which would
want to make you leave. Why, after all, would you want to leave an arena where
the sky is the limit?
Devisers, a reputed
immigration service provider for procuring visas to UK, USA, Canada and
Australia, remains your partners in facilitating Tier 1 (General) visa extension for those workers residing in the UK who wish to extend their stay to
continue to live and work in there.
Applicants must
currently be in the UK on an eligible visa type and score a minimum of 95
points (or 100 points for HSMP applicants) for aspects including language
ability, qualifications, previous earnings, UK experience and maintenance.
20 points are awarded
for applicants under 28 years of age; 10 points to applicants 28-29 years and 5
points to applicants who are 30-31 years old. Previous earnings will be
calculated from any consecutive 12 month period within the previous 15 months
that you worked in the UK before applying for an extension. You will be able to
bag 5 points for UK Experience. You are not required to prove English Language
ability again when applying for an extension unless you were granted an HSMP
visa after the rules put in place on 5 December 2006. If you have enough money
to cover your living expenses in the UK, you will score 10 points.
If you are unable to
qualify for an extension to your highly skilled migrant visa, there are
transitional arrangements in place to allow you to move to another Tier, such
as Tier 2 for skilled workers.
Our trained and
experienced consultants will be with you every step of the way to ensure that
you receive a visa extension. With
Devisers as your partner, once you have successfully attained extension, you
become eligible to continue to live and work in the UK, usually for a maximum
of 2 years for Tier 1. Devisers will then guide you to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) so that you may enjoy permanent residency in the UK.
